Before I left for the Great American West, I was really hoping to tackle the remaining pink armchair from my fraternal twin chairs. That was a little too ambitious, it seems, for a busy week of travel planning and tree-identification and last-minute errands. What you get, instead of a final reveal, is an in-progress update.

Not only was I too busy to finish the project that week, I was also apparently too busy to clean up after myself. Here’s the mess I left behind, in all its glory:

In case anyone’s wondering about that mason jar of brown liquid in the picture above–that’s my danish oil. Our can of Watco Teak Oil sealed itself shut, and eventually I just punctured the can and decanted it.

Charming.
