A few very small things changed in the living room right after I showed it to you last week. I wanted to update you, of course, because you’re all that important to me.

I got three new things that have made me quickly very happy. First, this H&M blanket, which seems to be higher quality than I’ve come to expect from H&M. Very soft, very pretty. Always nice to be pleasantly surprised by quality goods.

Next, that simple atomic brass planter, which I found at a garage sale last weekend for $2. Always nice to be surprised by good prices! Once Ben learns to weld, we are going to have a lot of these little things around, I think. I hope. I still need to find a more appropriate pot for it, but for now this one works.

It solves two problems: First, I wanted a plant to go in this corner, but this plant isn’t tall enough yet (and it’s mother, which would be big enough, is in the corner in the dining room where we also need a plant). Second, this plant kept getting scorched by hot sunlight in other spots I’ve put it. This corner gets indirect light, which is perfect for this little schefflera.

Finally, the record player is in place.

Now I just need to get my records out of storage in Wisconsin so we can enjoy them. Until then, we’ll just keep this one on heavy rotation.
